Two men who boldly held up the Greenhill Tavern in Crowsnest Pass last Thursday remain at large and investigation of the armed robbery is ongoing.
The robbery unfolded around 1 a.m. when the pair entered the bar armed with bear spray. After pointing it at staff, they made off with a large amount of Canadian cash. No employees were physically harmed during the incident and RCMP say the exact amount of money stolen is unknown.
According to RCMP media officer Cpl. Mathew Howell, the men had fleece masks covering their faces and both are described as having shorter, stockier builds. The taller male was wearing a red plaid jacket with a hood, while the other wore a black hoodie at the time of the crime.
The suspects fled the scene in a black pickup truck, which Howell says was possibly a Dodge Ram.
Howell says on-site surveillance footage is being reviewed. As camera angles do not always capture everything, he says footage from passing vehicles may also assist the investigation.
Crowsnest Pass RCMP ask that anyone with dashcam or other video footage of the area around the Greenhill, recorded between 12:30 and 2 a.m., review it and come forward with anything of interest. The tavern is located at 12326 20th Ave. in Blairmore.
