2024 LAC Consultation Submission
FIPA was contacted by Library and Archives Canada (LAC) and invited to consult on the development of LAC guidelines for the public interest disclosure of archival documents that may contain personal information. Working with a tight timeline, we were able to research the issue, consult subject matter experts, and prepare and present a brief that emphasized a balance between right-to-know principles and individual and collective privacy rights.
