Last spring, FIPA began more extensive News Monitoring with content through Canadian Press. We’re pleased to announce we are expanding that into a weekly podcast.
Your weekly roundup of the news stories impacting the information management field.
FIPA will continue to build and expand the searches that identify significant stories intersecting the information and privacy field. We saw some incredible stories over the past year. Our biggest take away has been the increasing number of outlets across the country contributing through the Local Journalism Initiative (LJI). Through the contributions of the program we see local journalists employing and reporting on access to information research revealing the truth from public bodies. LJI privacy stories highlight that any cyber security battle or data breach can impact people locally.
On our end, we owe a big FIPA thank you to the team working to turn this idea into reality and bring it to air. That includes writer Shaun Fisk, producer Patrick Farnsworth, and music by the mysterious Breakmaster Cylinder.
We have our first episodes out of the gate. Over the coming months, we hope to continue to build on and highlight the great work of journalists across the country who continue to write stories that spotlight access to information and privacy.
